Your next employer will probably ask you something like "Are you under any non-compete or similar agreement?" You will either have to lie to them or convince them that reporting what you're workin on is not a violation of the

kovrik, if you seriously put your mind on it, you can move out of Russia. I won't say "effortlessly", but it is probably easier than you think. Make sure to do your research – e.g. countries like Australia and Canada are mu

Popular issues like environmentalism and LGBT rights may be advancing, but more niche yet equally important issues, such as excessive privacy intrusions (mass surveillance, TSA), software and "DNA" patents are not. And these are i

Having read the article, I think the journalist got confused – what is stressful and requires insane skills is flying very low, following the terrain between mountains/hills. However, flying a mile high is only slightly different from

They'll just blacklist every single one of these sites for enabling access to illegal materials and you won't even be able to read EFF from Russia. And if a Russian citizen creates a public proxy, they'll convict him on anti-

Here's just a few factors: – Security: possible to do background checks on citizens of your own country, easier to hold them responsible, less chance of rogue employee, etc. – Communication problems: both in terms of poor communication

"Satoshi Nakamoto: I am not Dorian Nakamoto" is not relevant to HN (see first paragraph in http://ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html ). It could have well been killed manually.

I think Russians will blow up in a rebellion in the next few years. It's hard to explain why, but younger people get more and more furious with Putin. They see through his shit. They get older, replacing made-in-USSR elders. Putin'

Most of the people I know who like Putin are those who buy into his mass media propaganda. Such people agree with pretty much everything he does, including invading Ukraine to liberate them from the "fascist coup". I wish I could

Apple do not support two versions of iOS back. They expect you to upgrade to a newer, slower version of iOS every time it's released. You won't be able to get the new iOS 6.1.6 on your iPhone unless it supports iOS 6 but not iOS 7

Well, there is a certain enjoyment that comes from living – doing the things one enjoys. I don't know how one could argue that enjoying life is futile. If one is currently unable to do the things they enjoy, he/she should figure o

I'm assuming this is a practical question rather than a theoretical one, since you don't want abstract concepts that you can't relate to. Usually if you enjoy your live you don't stop to ask if it's futile or not. W

You welcome! I think "Funnel Analysis" is better. Tracking is kinda implied in the whole conversion / funnel optimization thing, and presumably the value is in analysis & optimization, not tracking per se, so that's

Looks good in general, here are some potential improvements: * You can safely drop "I'm a conversion optimization consultant." The sentence that follows is more powerful and easier to understand. * "How I can help."

I'm not arguing with any of that. Of course I understand why AGPL was chosen; if I was KO I would have done the same. But that kind of licensing is not something that I can trust, and all of those forks also need to be AGPL-licensed if

Maybe, at least in that case there would be more incentive for others to create another competing open source project. One that everyone can use commercially without some company acting as a gatekeeper.
