Although I didn't consider this attack possibility (thanks for raising it!), I think we are reasonably immune to it or able to detect it with the way we manipulate and store the JSON (though completely avoiding it seems not attainable,

Thanks for the pointers. Are first glance, SSI seem to be mainly Blockchain based, which we diverted from to be able to have easy on premise deployments. Verifiable credentials look interesting, but need to check usability. We want our sol

Interesting! We're at a very early stage of the implementation and develop in rust. We aim to provide multi-sig capabilities, as defined in a JSON file where the public keys of the signers can be found. If a signer looses a key, we wan

I am working on an open source project where users provide signatures of their projects artifacts (this is oversimplified for the sake of the discussion). Started using Minisign as the signature scheme. But we're struggling to find a c

Did you get outside contributions yet? I'm asking because it is dual licensed agpl and commercial (just like a recent project I'm working on), and am wondering how contributors react to the cla. Btw I like your short and clear CLA

I'm just starting a software project and, again, it is ambitious and somewhat complex (multi-sig signoff solution). I envy people that can identify a simple project and execute it successfully. But the challenge of building something

It is so true it is hard to go back. F# is such a nice and powerful language. Its biggest problem might be Microsoft however....

In case you're interested when you set up proper distribution, I'm working on an open source solution aiming to improve security of downloads from the internet. Our first step is maintaining a mirror of checksums published in GitH

Thanks for sharing, this is something I also wanted to do but never took the time to implement. I could use it in a project of mine listing new releases published on GitHub [1] as an additional way to discover repos. 1: https://f

What I did is ask Google Gemini to generate me a static site generator using data in a sqlite database. It's a Show HN I just submitted [1], and you can see the generated website at https://freshstuff.net/ Might be an

I knew otp was still suboptimal in gleam, but thanks for mentioning all these additional points! Funny how preferences and priorities vary among devs, I need my static type system! :-) But note even in static type systems there are variatio

It definitely was for me! The syntax is simple, it is functional first but is not pure. I started with zero experience with ml languages and got productive fast enough to enjoy it. Of course my early f# code could be improved, but it was wo

I am also keeping an eye on gleam! I also regret that they left the ml syntax behind, but as you say it shouldn't be a blocking factor. If they adopt computation expressions and make otp a priority it would probably come beside fsharp

Elixir getting a strong type system is interesting, but watch out for gleam though But they still miss the computation expressions, which open interesting possibilities like https://github.com/CaptnCodr/Fli and https:

I'm sure it can be the better choice, but for me it was not. It seems there was some incompatibility between me and Scala. I find it such a complex language and I never managed to wrap my head around it. As I said F# was my last choice

I should have mentioned in the message, but I was looking for a strongly typed language. I was an avid-user of dynamically-typed languages, but that particular Ruby on Rails app became unmaintainable, and part of the culprit was due to the

I am running one-node swarms, so everything I deploy is running on the same node. But from my understanding you can apply labels to the nodes, and limit the placement of containers. See here for an example (I am not affiliated to this site)

F# was for me the best functional language when I looked at rewriting a Ruby on Rails app. I wanted to go with a functional language, as it seems to better fit my thinking and reasoning, and I looked at Haskell, Ocaml, Scala, F#. Being a st

It is possible to start your project with the script possibilities offered by F# (as mentioned in the blog post). It is absolutely a viable approach and I even blogged about it a couple of months ago: https://www.asfaload.com

As mentioned in another comment, I'm currently still happy with (single node) Docker Swarms (with the reverse proxy as described on https://dockerswarm.rocks/ ). I like that I can basically use the docker compose files

Exactly, my first reaction was "I should write a blog post about why I still use Docker Swarm". I deploy to single node swarms, and it's a zero boiler plate solution. I had to migrate services to another server recently, and

Fsharp, which originally was ocaml on dotnet, can also be run as scripts. It is a really practical way to start a project. I blogged about it here: https://asfaload.com/blog/fsharp-fsx-starting-point/
