FSharpPacker works on scripts (with extension .fsx) written with F# and usually run with `dotnet fsi`. For the F# advent calendar [1] I recently blogged about how those scripts are a viable starting point for developing an application in F#

I agree it depends on the situation, but there still are some situations (like small apps) where I see swarm as the way to go. Yours is probably different.

That's indeed the opinion of the author. Note however that at this time all elements used in the setup described on dockerswarm.rocks are maintained. I started using swarm in 2022 and I documented my decision [1], and my reasoning for

I am particularly happy with docker swarm with traefik as described here: https://dockerswarm.rocks/traefik/ Incredibly easy to setup and manage for usual small scale deployments. I use it as one node swarms, and I ha

Not lunni's dev, but a Swarm fan :-) I'm a swarm user, but using single node swarms. It's the best solution I found for deploying apps. A lot of projects publish docker compose files, and those are easily usable with Swarm af

I'm sure you can find a similar example for any significant FOSS project, including GNOME, but that doesn't mean it is a general stance adopted by developers when a new bug report comes in.

Interesting to see this as I recently did a show HN without much success about an F# library also handling raw sql. I enjoy working with SQL directly, though I understand it has pros and cons. If you need specially crafted queries, it is a

It was onivim2. Iirc it was a one-man show, and stopped when funding dried up. I also hoped to see a a lot from it. Maybe the dev took too much work on his plate, with an unproven language with limited libraries? https://github.c

I had explored the opportunity [1] to help send files securely based on the Firefox Send fork available at [2]. It proved very difficult to sell with actually no interest in such a product (and I probably sold it the wrong way). I still use

I'm guessing here, but maybe you see these configuration languages as templates? However a configuration language is much more than that. For example, jsonnet lets you combine objects and override deeply nested fields [1]. I'm not

Docker Swarm uses compose files too. Swarm is still used and maintained, though I agree it is much smaller than k8s. But that's not a reason to dismiss it I think. I went for it because it's so easy to use that if I need to migrat

Genuine question: I'm curious to know why you deploy with docker-compose and not Docker swarm (eg like described at https://dockerswarm.rocks/ ). I'm deploying the same kind of apps, and ended up with Swarm which

I think it shows in the community management that F# originated in a closed-source environment. For example, it is required to be a member of the F# Software Foundation to get access to F# Slack. Putting such a roadblock early in the discov
