I have been using e/OS but moved away when an upgrade to the next version required to manually wipe the device. I could cope with the little inconveniences of a degoogled phone, but wiping the device myself following a unclear procedur

Looks interesting. I'm currently using https://tuicr.dev/ , of which I like that the first screen it shows is the choice of commit range you want to review. Might be something to consider for deff?

Am I a fool to think that upcycled devices might not dent the sales of new devices, but would be used in new ways that would actually be positive for the vendor?

You're right of course. I hadn't thought of the negatives when this self-restraint is absent. I only sent one letter to one team because I was a fan. The restraining factor was being a fan. Remove that, and it can indeed rapidly g

When I was young I wrote to the Formula 1 team McLaren to ask if they could hire me for a student job. I didn't expect to get a reply, but I got one. The answer was negative, but I was happy. I never reflected about it until now, but m

I've been happily using a container to run my agents [1]. I tried to make it evolve with more advanced features, but it quickly became harder to use and I went back to a basic container which I just start with a run.sh script. Is a sim

I'm impressed with the speed of development. I didn't take a look at the quality of the code though. I'm using glm a Kimi k2.5, and I have a lot of corrections to apply to the code. Is Claude that better? Or is my process bad

I looked at your profile but didn't seen any contact info, hence this comment. I'm working on a fully open source multisig solution for artifact authentication. I would be interested to have your opinion and if you see opportuniti

I recently also reflected on the evolution of my use of ai in programming. Same evolution, other path. If anyone is interested: https://www.asfaload.com/blog/ai_use/

This might be a question of personal preference. At the design stage I already find it more approachable to think in separated responsibilities, and it naturally translates to actors. Thinking about the app, it's much reasier for me to

I'm working on an rest API server backed by a git repo. Having an actor responsible for all git operations saved me from a lot of trouble as having all git operations serialised freed me from having to prevent concurrent git operations

I use ai to develop, but at every code review I find stuff to be corrected, which motivates me to continuing the reviews. It's still a win I think though. I've incrementally increased my use of ai in development [1], but I'm

My use of LLMs for programming has evolved drastically in 6 months, to the point I decided to write about it. Posting it here as I'm curious to read experiences by other programmers!

I could imagine using this to access a beefier machine besides my main work computer. But indeed paying for stopped VM is difficult to sell. There was a suggestion to propose pre installed tools in different images which I find a good idea

I use agents in a container and persist their config like you suggest. After seeing some interest I shared my setup at https://github.com/asfaload/agents_container It works fine for me on Linux.

I put all my agents in a docker file in which the code I'm working on is mounted. It's working perfectly for me until now. I even set it up so I can run gui apps like antigravity in it (X11). If anyone is interested I shared my se

I always run my agents in a container with the source code directory mounted. That way I can reasonably be confident I may let it work without fearing destructive actions to my system. And I'm a git reset away to restore source code.
