just because something is packaged does not mean it’s usable. YMMV but this is how security horror stories start. Someone ran a container they had no idea where it came from, happily used a helm chart. Most of the times it’s not even malici

i think that the way a corporation would mitigate this risk is different. if i need to pay you 5million in a wrongful termination scenario vs paying you 250k per year, I could make you work for 20 years doing nothing and make your life mise

if it’s one employee yes. if you’re going to be basically liable every time you fire someone it’s not worth it.

nah. a wrongful termination lawsuit is expensive (think 7 figures). what i think amazon is going to do is put the workers that try this stunt into positions that are so crappy or the demands are so unrealistic that they’re gonna quit.

my point was that just because something is "required" does not mean you have to do it or agree with it. especially if you believe it's wrong.

one person that has the ethic compass to let you know when things are happening + someone who shows and loudly complains is enough to enact change. i swear that people nowadays would sell their soul to the devil just to not go though minor

sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen if you ask me. How is uni tied to a crappy corporation? i’m gonna bet you real money that 1) either they had multiple channels (ie you didn’t really need FB) or 2) they will pay legal fees through the

I am not arguing with you. I am pointing out FB is a POS and that it should not be required. Period. Anything that uses FB as a way of keeping people informed should use at least another channel to disseminate that information, preferably n

it does not. FB becoming a requirement is such a 1st world problem. Try living without clean water and come back to lecture me about “increased difficulty”

nah. let’s not compare electricity to a bloated social media platform. if FB goes away tomorrow we can pretty much keep going. if electricity goes away our society would crumble.

not saying that you’re wrong, but do you have the same constraints as the “crappy” websites? there is definitely an explosion of tooling, frameworks, etc, but past some obvious things, IMHO most websites are crippled by business people (tha

i think there is more nuance to this. If you know what the best practices are in general, you understand them and have a really good reason to reject one or two of them that’s one thing. If you reject everything because “you know batter” th
