There's two issues here -- one is that there's a brain drain in the United States. The best and the brightest are leaving. They can't stay, because we won't let them. The fix is letting them, by reforming H1B policies. Second is H1B abuse b

Propel ICT looks like a good way to get in touch with other entrepreneurs in New Brunswick. http://propelict.com/ Dan Martell, an angel investor out here in the Valley, also is from New Brunswick and he's a phenomenal resource too.

Summary: Twitter is in maturity / value discovery phase. Show standard product life cycle graph. Then blatant plug for gist.com, which "Twitter needs in order to filter lots of content".

Yup, agree completely. But that's precisely why teams should be small. Apple is living proof. Some large chunks of the iPhone are actually done by half a dozen engineers. When I was a PM at Microsoft, our whole team was something like 40 pe

Really impressive work -- the beat detection and game generation logic is top notch. I haven't seen any other rhythm game execute this well on uploaded songs.

Creative endeavor is so similar. The auteur model fits so well. It's a business, but it's also a craft. There's tech and art and communication all rolled into one. The last part spoke to me the most -- it is HARD to start these days, but

I've said this before and I will say it again -- any list of Canadian entrepreneurs without backtype.com on it is a sorely incomplete list. They're building real core tech that is powering dozens of other sites.

It's easy to frame the marketplace as a zero sum game. Someone's win equals your loss and vice versa. The reality is that model is a massive oversimplification, and thinking that way is value destructive.

Many sites have email as a feature. We're thrilled to see more attention being paid to that feature. But our vision is quite a bit more than just that feature.

We actually already support oEmbed -- the big problem with it is discovery. We have to hard code lists of sites that support oembed -- which really defeats the purpose.

Wow, Ezra Roizen really shows he doesn't get it in that interview. He thinks he's boiled down realtime search to merely an abstraction of existing search. Scoopler (and the entire space) is not a mere rehash of Google and/or

This type-centric redesign fails to account for information architecture. What's the most important thing on the page? Probably the tweet and the picture. The left column with ragged right justified time and twitter client stamp draws far t

Two serious lessons learned: 1) Don't try to get through a Boston summer without AC 2) Don't try to code 18 hours a day on a 12" laptop sub lesson to point #2: Don't try to code Rails 18 hours a day on a Windows laptop. It's a joke.
