(I WORK FOR AWS) Each service has it's own dedicated service team. I've used some (not all) of the new services and I believe there is room to improve but I didn't think they were unstable or anything like that.

Actually I do think that GCE offers cheaper instances, but the 50% overall price reduction claim is unsubstantiated. The author compared completely different instance types. Monthly discounts does make GCE cheaper but for many instance type

I have a physics background but not an EE background. I found verilog pretty easy to grasp. VHDL took me a lot longer. To get some basic ideas I always recommend the book code by charles petzold: https://www.amazon.com/Code-
