Seems the most obvious reason for a simulation would be to check the outcome from a series of different conditions. Eg what would have happened if humanity had done X? Was that pivot important? So we could just be someone’s history homework

I am skeptical of all the crypto schemes, and this is the only use case I find convincing. The small producer in China is paid by the American company via a digital currency. Faster, easier, cheaper. Continued use of such a medium could ove

I think on remote it’s worth reframing the argument a little. If you’re totally pro-remote, I’d like to hear your thoughts on this formulation. Consider an early stage startup of six employees. Working full remote - everyone at home, commun

Relatedly, have you ever thought about how undo works with text? Open your mail client, compose a message, type a few words. What do you expect cmd-z to do? How much of the words will it undo? All the line? Try it. Then after undo, type a b

Super early, or... such systems tend to centralisation. There are very few successfully distributed systems I can think of. Bittorrent is on. I guess we could argue some markets in the economic sense are distributed. But in reality even bot

I think there are better places to work that allow you (or cofounder) to pay your bills - even if your bills have to shrink a bit to fit. Best of luck with the side project, hope it entices you/your cofounder to leave Facebook.

To call Google an “advertising company” is disingenuous and I suspect you know that. Whilst Facebook has been obsessed with chasing eyeballs and advertising, Google has built Google maps, Gmail, Android, Translate, all kinds of search, GCP,
