The cookie notices in the US have nothing to do with GPDR. They are just annoying. They are even more annoying overseas. Someone should do a study on how many people actually care and click no or tailor these? Is it < 50%?

Heads up - most users do NOT care about tracking, and click yes to these popups. Do folks on HN not get this? This is all posturing. If you want to reduce tracking, use a browser that reduces the tracking. Seriously, just use total cookie p

I control who sets cookies on my machine. We all do. Don't like them? Block them. What is gained, SERIOUSLY, by these stupid pop-ups? I'm serious, has anyone analyzed this? It really shows how the heavy hand of govt has ZERO cost&

It's actually annoying, you have to go turn on a setting somewhere. I've had a few folks frustrated with this, I think for most users if they give google access to their location they expect google will remember it.

These cookie banners are so annoying - govt messes this type of stuff over and over. Let me control cookies on my end, I can choose not to accept cookies using my own browser controls, or delete them after 1 hour etc.

Govt has probably forever burnt their credibility in this space in terms of user friendly / operable approaches with their cookie notice hell. Everyone has now been trained to click accept / accept all / OK or whatever on all

I've thought this would be great for longer runs. Put a wire in the road or something for the vehicles to follow. Once you are on the wire some protocol for merge points (also marked on the wire) etc.

No disrespect, but you have probably not implemented or tried to transition a network running on IPv4 to either dual stack or IPv6 native internally. Even the big players like AWS / GCP etc struggled with this.

Man, that is it exactly, they threw everything and the kitchen sink into it AND made it unnecessarily difficult to update systems / be compatible with IPv4. They should have had IPv6 with a header or config for IPv4 gateway(s) configur

I think they are planning to pay comcast/xfinity and others for bandwidth off the home router hotspots in an automated way. So if your neighbor is on that type of program the TV can piggyback on your or their hotspot and push back the

One thing that's very striking to me is the anti-nuclear folks have managed to strand something like 400,000 TONS of nuclear waste in temporary facilities. These are often surprisingly high risk (on large time scales) with many other n

Sorry - I meant to focus on argument from workers point of view. Govt jobs, you can get basically a job for life if you are not a total idiot. Not for everyone of course. One model I've seen some pretty large success with is employee o
