If I were him, I'd sell/sold all my MS stocks (its just 3M), to avoid all the FUD being created around it, and all the energy going in PR and possible scrutiny by the authorities.

If you can code, create a few good paid apps and start generating passive income. This is certainly one way (and a valid way), to do it. But not everyone wants to/can sell . Its a completely different skillset and not everyone is good at
