On a related note I recently had some lab work done and was dumbfounded when the nurse looking after me told me I could now sign up on their website[1] and access my results as soon as the tests were finished being analyzed. Sure enough,

I know it's not 'cool' but the fact that this supports IE7+ makes it infinitely more useful to me personally. Looks very very nice after a short play with the demo!

It's been a long time now, but I pretty much agree with you. I really enjoyed Griffiths as an introduction but for reasons that escape me now I remember having a bad time with Shankar.

Based on all this discussion I regret using the phrase "it's your fault" which sounds too aggressive. Instead I wish I just emphasized that regardless of biological and societal pressures everyone of us does possess the abil

I certainly did not mean to imply that it was easy. Simple yes, easy? Hell no. (I lost 45lbs last year, not fun). Nor did I imply that someone was a lesser person for being overweight. However, I do believe if you want to change your wei

It's tough to hear but no matter what your genetics or internal flora are, being overweight is still your fault . It may not be "fair" that someone puts on less weight than someone else eating the same diet, but ultimately

Mr Rumsfeld, it's cool that you're doing this and all but I believe the title you're looking for is "I Decided to Commission An App"!

It is trivially easy to game too in some cases. My insurer wants to use your smart phone to do the tracking over a period of 6 months after which you no longer have to be tracked. Want to do some street racing every weekend? Just leave y

I'm not sure if you're trying to imply something negative about this project or not, but there are many many research MRI's around and it's not completely unreasonable to spare 15 min of MRI time for something like this.

Putting things in the way of the beam to measure dose is actually quite common. You can do real time dose monitoring using diodes (see [1]). The diodes are quite small and don't generate huge amounts of scatter. It is quite common to u
