We have the same thing in Javascript, we call it 'hacks.js'. That's the place you go when things are broken and you're not yet ready to pay down tech debt. Hacks.css sounds nicer than shame.

Looks like you're new here? http://ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html Check out "in comments" in particular. When disagreeing, please reply to the argument instead of calling names. E.g. "That is an idiotic thing to say; 1 + 1 is

I appreciate this because it's a bit of a challenge to a narrative. I think in startup landia, we see the same thing. Everyone knows company x is next to ipo, everyone knows company y doesn't have a shot. And while sometimes those public pr

Just curious: What keeps you there? I mean this as your reasoning, not a general "why people stay where they're born" question. What pops in your head when you think of moving?

We've taken a similar approach to building Vidpresso, and it's worked out really well. We literally found one customer who'd pay up front for a year of our service, then they suffered through the woes of an early product. Then, we found our

I think a lot of people use two spaces in diff communities. I prefer two, but I'm not sure if it's because I'm in these communities or what.

Hm, I wonder why they didn't check out instructure. https://github.com/instructure/canvas-lms It's open source, and there's a paid arm of it for universities to outsource their IT needs.

Good luck demo day startups!! I used to be behind the scenes, and it was always a nerve wracking time for me, so I figure if I times my nerves by 1000, that's what it would be like for the startups. :)
