Started as a Fusion user, then Parallels on the Mac. Then back to Fusion. Each Windows or MacOS update would break something. Toggled back and forth maybe 5-6 times. Finally settled on Parallels and stopped upgrading Fusion. Haven't ha

Went down the voice assistant rabbit-hole with Home Assistant. To integrate with an LLM, you will need a separate processor (or connect to the cloud service). Wondering if CM5 will offer enough of a boost to allow on-device LLM processing o

FWIW, just started a digital subscription ro PrivateEye via PocketMags. It's essentially a PDF of the magazine inside a basic reader (i.e. lots of zooming and scrolling). In the U.S. it runs $6/month.

One of the unusual things Swift did during its transition to a real programming language was to promise that there would be breaking changes. This way, everyone knew what to expect. Customers, co-workers, contractors, and management knew wh

The trouble is finding a "reputable" dealer and a trustable path of provenance. I've been looking around for a set of specific coins from the 6th Century. They show up in searches but range from $20-$500. You can't tell

Realtek RTL8720DN and RTL8721DM claim 5GHz wifi as well as 2.4GHz and BLE 5. Finding a decent dev-board for them is not easy. Seeedstudio's Wio Terminal is one of the few. The ESP32 ecosystem, though, is much larger.
