Nitter.net doesn't play videos. EDIT: This is false, I made a mistake on my side. Apologies. Maybe a paywalled website that is actively hostile to non-users shouldn't be considered a source of news ?

There is javascript and javascript, it's all about the proper amount of complexity. Just like HN that does have JS but only a tiny amount, not necessary for working, and can still work without. I don't know how gmail works, my com

I live in a rich country and can afford a smartphone but I don't want a site that needs JavaScript to work. I don't want 4G or 5G or above to be mandatory to work well. Because this is completely at odds with what we should be

You are right, this is a use case I absolutely did not take into account, but I want to separate user-defined actions and app-defined actions. A level of zoom is something a user does to read a document, but I wouldn't consider that as

In this view the save action is more like a commit, where the user manually checkpoints and also offers a simple description of why this is an important point. But in my view all intermediary points also need to be saved, because the user m

To add to your point, fossil, the versioning system designed by the people of SQLite, and using SQLite, doesn't even use SQLite as a file format. It's all a bunch of blobs, each with its own format, that happen to be stored on S

Why do you use a secondary, volatile database ? Performance-wise you won't gain a lot more (we're talking about a user editing a file, so not even 1 write per second). A proposal: write directly, and automatically in the database.

It probably takes way more than a single individual badly training the AI to cause such a problem. That's like saying you yourself are responsible for the same crash because you pay taxes that helped subside the company.
