I proved a lemma while shampooing as well. It gives immense pleasure to run away naked and wet, grab a pencil, and scribble some nonsense in a paper.

It has occurred to me that the discussion has shifted towards programming vs mathematics, instead of the actual discussion proposed by the OP to focus on MCMC. This happens a lot here, focus is lost very easily.

It should also have one called "Think Markov Chain Monte Carlo" - even the simplest reference is intractable and others began very simplistically and ends incomprehensible enough to disgust the subject altogether.

You're saying that it is enough just to have will power. I am saying that you must use your will power, and that is two different things. You are just relying on it to make some magic, whereas I am pointing out that you should un

I disagree, people do forget about will power, otherwise they would know that something is bad for them and choose something else to do. People are not that dumb, they know it is taking a toll but they choose to entertain that addiction by

Forget extensions and add-ons and apps to keep you focused. What really boils down is WILL POWER , something that we as a whole have forgot to use in a daily basis. Will will retain your focus; will will help you achieve your goals; w

That worked great for your sister . What about those researchers living let's say in Brazil, where Universities cannot afford huge subscription prices? The only alternative is SciHub...

It would be nice to cross-reference with only open science links as well for understanding key principles elsewhere. Nice initiative.

I guess for foreigners, first world countries, this is quite normal. However, here, at Brazil, this is the very first initiative where a private company decides to invest in research, aiming to keep innovative researchers working at Brazil.
