This particular case isn't a dark pattern, but the fact OSes are written under the assumption that users want to create an account for cloud services is. (Yes, by this definition Google, Microsoft and Apple are all dark patterners.)

If the premise is that everyone would just agree on the same protocol, I have an even more unbreakable solution: every image has to be upload to a blockchain the moment it is (claimed to be) created. Otherwise it's AI. If only everyo

There is no solution . I don't know why people discuss this subject as if there is a technical solution. As if there are fairies or souls hidden in the pixels that help us tell what is AI generated and what is not.

They absolutely didn't imply that. They implied that Meta doesn't want to show the ads so it's native to think Meta would just show the ads without being forced to. Which is correct.

Uh... you can do this pretty easily since day 1. Just use Stable Diffusion with a low denoising strength. This repo presents an even less destructive way[0], but it has always been very easy to hide that an image is generated by Nano Banana

Wait, so you admit this is intentional, not a bug? We need to internet archive this comment. Edit: and I suggest not downvoting and burying the parent comment. People should be aware that this is an intended behavior from Vercel.

In the past ~15 years, there are only two new languages that went from "shiny new niche toy" to "mainstream" status. Rust and Go[0]. This fact alone insinuates that the idea of having unlimited memory or unlimited CPU

You misunderstood. The model doesn't create a user block here. The UI correctly shows what was user message and what was model response.

It's such a weird question. Yes, "dot operator can throw a NRE" is of course a big mistake. A billion-dollar mistake, you can even say.

Unity's C# has always felt like C#'s mentally challenged cousin. C-not-so-sharp. The custom == convinced me that allowing operator overloading on built-in operators is one big mistake.
