I've used this to emulate bad dslam uplinks. either on the bras or mitm. It works well.

I agree with you here. However some of the 10gbit iom/mdas for the Nokia 77x0 bins are $100,000s.

Man, hobby electronics has come along way. Love em' or hate em' 3d printing is really adding that polish which takes things from a hack to professional looking prototype much more viable. What a time to be alive! :)

Yeah, between this and the power saving bugs in the last few generations of i-core processors I'm really feeling deflated about the last 2 laptops I bought. I used an Acer c710 w/coreboot+seabios and it worked so well. Good batter

This guy has a good write up on using netem to impair a connection to simulate a wan connection. Pretty handy for testing. I've used it to simulate a bad uplink in between a dslam and bras. https://www.excentis.com/blo
