The way I understand this matter: TSMC runs a process in which ASML is a tool, an important one, that needs to run TSMC's process reliably. Both the process and tool needs to innovate to enable each other to get the most out of both.

Even as a layman in these things, I know that a nuclear reactor is far, far from a nuclear bomb and isn't easily made one. You can't 'configure' a reactor to become a bomb. A better way would just be shielding, make sure

Agreed, I'm definitely in the same circle. A smart TV means it can run apps basically. There is really nothing smart about that... It would be smart if it would mute itself during commercials, for example. All these 'Smart'

> He spent almost all of his time thinking and recording his ideas. He only came to campus on Tuesdays. If your job is research, why call that a one-day workweek?

That sounds expensive and slow. And sensible. So I'm guessing the Boring Company does things differently, but I have no basis for that. Those tunnel boring machines that dig and put the concrete etc up are super cool though

Good point. I know next to nothing about making tunnels, but I wonder how hard it is to increase the tunnel diameter after it's originally dug out.

Once the tunnels are there and after the company running them goes bankrupt, someone sensible can buy those tunnels for cheap and do something sensible with them. Like have an actual mass transit system.

I'm thinking of a new game: write the shortest Overpass Turbo query that yields, say, 1 result for eg. your country.

If they do break the sound barrier, that's also when the efficiency drops iirc. So I guess they'll switch it to a heavier load or RPM, or apply the brakes? Not sure how that works for a wind turbine

What's the velocity and mass of a single rain drop? And how many fall in a square meter in an average year? Can't do this homework at the moment...

Is there any system that does? Especially if a large portion of the population is too old to work and provide for themselves.

For that investment to work, they need to bring in some revenue as well. The ISS is scheduled to retire by 2030. Let's assume this capsule goes operational in 2025 and flies twice a year, that's 10 flights to recoup well, well ove

Not a 100% AFAIK, there's some sentiment analysis on news as well and I suppose every other piece of machine-interpretable piece of information one can get their hands on. Along with human guidance still.

Then still, you'd need 5 to 8 years of very negative prices. These prices are a nice little bonus for some ppl but not something sustainable. It's a signal from the market something has to change: be more flexible, in demand or s

Was thinking about this too. Or mining Bitcoin and using that wate heat etc. There's heat pump boilers apparently with some additional loops for external heating (meant for solar water heaters) that could be used for this.

Psssh, that's nothing. I've got €-0.43/kWh here in the Netherlands for 3 hours today, including tax. Energy prices are negative from 11 to 17 today. And it's not all that sunny. A Sunday of course so lower demand. I
