You're like the caricature of what other social media platforms represent HN users to be.

It's not that it's going down, the article suggests that it slows. If I lose 20 kilo's, my "biological age" might go down 2 years, but that doesn't mean it's "slowed"

I despise working with Nuget. Whether it's a restore, managing your csproj, or publishing packages, compared to NPM it's an absolute mess.

I think about it like this... Fundamentally, I believe it's how they want to be treated culturally, but in our society, we tie gender and sex so closely together, that to be treated the way you want to be treated culturally in society,

Nice, I didn't know that. The difference between W3C and what browsers actually implement, if you don't laugh, you'll cry.

Validation tools will also tell you if you have an H1 in a <section>, but no H1 outside of the section, because the <section> actually creates it's own scope, thus your page has no H1.

Frankly bundlephobia gives me more information that I care about... "How much is the end user going to have to download, parse and execute".

They says sponsored by Vercel and Upstash, but in the repo, it just says hosting and database "sponsored" by them. Are they just using the free tier???

Yep. It isn't just a less usable web, it's a less safe web. But anything for those sweet ad dollars.

At this point, if you know how the box model works and the difference between margin and padding, you're ahead of 50% of "frontend developers".

Bought a new Macbook recently and tried most of these. Ghostty seems really good. It _just works_. Helix is pretty cool, also feels like it _just works_ versus something like base nvim (although I'd start with kickstart.nvim). Maybe I

Even modern currency isn't free of being a market for speculation. It's not as extreme as cryptocurrency, but forex trading is a thing, and honestly the sways of USD to other currencies are meaninful enough to take into considerat

The new Dom stuff looks really cool. I had to work with the previous functions a couple months ago and it was terrible. New API looks nice.

I mean, Cloudflare's done a lot of work in polyfilling a lot of node_compat stuff. The only one is generally password hashing. At this point, I just run up a service binding to a rust worker and hash it over there.

Ah it's definitely not (significantly cheaper than ElevenLabs), but I was expecting ElevenLabs to be better because I hadn't read (or seen anything suggesting) it was a worse model, but it makes sense.

I've used this, and the main ElevenLabs service. The reader has to be using a very very cheap model, it sounds worse than the Azure service (which isn't bad). It's better than traditional text to speech, but I can't use

So I work on a similar project in my spare time, but have just settled for Azure's Text to Speech service. What I'm actually interested in is your pricing model. Why do you have constraints on characters AND articles, versus just

Is this open sourced anywhere by any chance? Are you using GPT to do the conversion, or just doing it yourself by ways of HTML -> Markdown substitutions?

Funnily enough, the fact that PG's website is archaic actually pushed me to parse a lot of legacy tags that I'd never had to use in that way.

Wanting to read PG articles while working was one of the reasons I started up a project called WebToSpeech[0]. It's not a startup, it's more just a project I created so I could listen to articles while working. I thought about mak

Frustrating that the online version uses weird format for it's code blocks, which leads reader view (Mozilla Readability) to not put code in a <pre> tag or a <code> tag and leaves it as plain text.
