Tesla robotaxis have teleoperation [1], which is worse than remote assistance others use because the operators have direct control. Yet they cannot fully remove safety personnel from the car. The old ambition is dead. [1] https://

$200 to enable better FSD vs a decade of struggle to get FSD only partially working with $20 cameras. Which one do you think is more expensive overall?

The complexity argument rings hollow to me. It’s a bit like saying distributed databases are complex because you have to deal with CAP guarantees. Yes, but people still develop them because it has real benefits. It was maybe a valid argumen

New York is a long way behind California in regulating autonomous vehicles. Fully driverless vehicles are also illegal there and it will require legislation for Waymo to deploy in the state.

What I gathered from comments here is it's not a simple flick of the switch and it actually takes some effort to turn them off. Can you really do it twice within the span of 1 second?

Context is both these switches being turned off with a 1 second gap. Doing it with one hand simultaneously would possibly explain it, otherwise it doesn’t seem relevant.

It isn’t a pivot. Rather it’s gaining business that would otherwise go to Broadcom/Marvell. They continue to keep their high margin proprietary product. They don’t have to give away all their design secrets, just enough to make them

There's a lot of push for inference hardware now (e.g. Ironwood TPUs). How does Nvidia maintain an edge there? Also, I think the market has to expand beyond LLMs to areas like robotics and self driving cars (and they need to have real

I understand Nvidia is in a very dominant position. But $4T market cap still seems absolutely insane to me. I've only read about the Cisco boom and bust during the Internet era, and this feels eerily similar (people who actually experi

Why do you believe Waymo's miles are from driving at night on empty streets? They drive when there's rideshare demand, a majority of which occurs during daytime and in the busiest areas of a city. They are no less stuck in traffic

Oh, that's already a problem for them. There are videos of many Waymos stranded because the previous rider didn't close the door fully.

Waymo already warns you if it detects road users when you open a door. They just don't actively prevent you from opening the door, but they could implement it in their next generation vehicles.

Looks clean! Does the Health app not allow you to automatically grab resting heart rate and max heart rate? I'm not sure why I would manually set those values in settings when they are already tracked in Health.

This doesn't entirely help, but for most (if not all) workouts, you can set alerts for specific heart rate zones. Of course, this is very cumbersome to do per workout on the watch.
