Not sure what your definition of fraud is (for me it's more like what the British India company did). Wining a tender process that probably needs fixing (because it's obsolete) is not fraud.

If you consider overcharging (perceivably) to be akin to defrauding, then a lot more doctors, pharmacy cos. and lawyers are defrauding clients than outsourcing cos. Even though the repercussions of them defrauding their clients is a lot hig

There's probably barely any big consulting firm or bank that does not have offshore mega offices (in India) where a lot of important work happens in equities, commodities, etc. Citibank, BOA, PWC, you name it. All employ tens of thousa

I can't help but notice the bias people from the west tend to have against Indian outsourcing companies. They have issues and downsides, sure. Major long term downsides, as an Indian programmer (not working for any of these companies),

Hmm, while not for path breaking tech like the above, I go to product hunt or indie hackers to go checkout new products and become an early adopter.

The $150k is the least compelling reason to join YC. Most people apply to YC for the ecosystem, community and access to (relatively) good VCs.

Yes exactly. A good example of this in a centralised system however, is Indian Railways. They have a billion customers and still have a simple phone number, a mobile app and physical counters for customer service.

Thanks for correcting. True that 5 mins per ticket is too less. But I don't think any paid tech service has 1B customers. (users yes, customers, I don't think so).

Update: 10% of 1B is 100M. 100M tickets in how much time? Let's say a year. And it takes on average 5 minutes to respond to 1. That is 500M minutes. So you need a team of ~1500 people to respond to 100M tickets in a year. Not that bad

I get this argument about having millions of users reporting stuff. But just have a look at Facebook and Google's balance sheet, and the figures that other non profitable monopolies raise. However big the support team needs to be shoul

This resonates with me so much. On a slightly unrelated note: When these to-be monopolies are just starting and raising dollars, their service and everything is on point. Once their too big to have competitors, there is absolutely no way of

It's common sense that these SaaS products are targeted towards people who use them enough to pay for it, monthly. The reason why it's better for the creator to offer it paid only, is that they can focus on shipping features only

No, I'm suggesting that they make it slightly more difficult to create ads on FB. Why do we see much less fake ads on conventional media? Because it's difficult to be anonymous, the process is a lot slower and the publishing mediu

Fair enough, it is quite difficult to do that (well not really if your net profits are ~20B and if you let convenience and speed of ad deployment suffer for quality and trust). But the least they could do is increase transparency like how S
