These are good points. I'd like to get philosophical about 'obscenities' for a bit. A mature discussion must include diverse input, or you sacrifice the benefit of a diverse group. I think it's unproductive to try to sanitize discourse by r

You're right. Frankly I think rates of alcoholism among native populations from the 1600s to today would be the best measure of this idea. This would need to be compared to other subjugated demographic groups, perhaps in other areas of th

Inuit society is unique in general. I think alcoholism among Native Americans has more to do with genocide and poverty than culture shock. Most indigenous Americans were exposed regularly to very strong entheogens, including alcohol. Preced

The way I understand it, AMD was in bad financial shape after purchasing ATI. Then they did the conservative thing by letting Intel release i7 unchallenged, and investing in their process/research for the next big release they do. MaximumPC

Suddenly large percentages of the Native Americans were alcoholics. It's a small point but this isn't true. Native Americans had beer and liquor extending back beyond written history. Here's an example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulq

I agree, and DRM isn't always a bad thing. The GPL qualifies as rights management in my opinion. As a Steam user I admit that convenience and reduced price can be make the negatives of DRM negligible. This doesn't change the fact that DRM
