Interesting. For a long time I did indeed feel like I was dying when I started running. Now I feel edgy and anxious if I don’t get to run for a few days. We are built to run. Incidentally running 30 minutes twice a week has been the best th

Yes. They don’t think hard enough before they do things or put enough care into doing it. That’s apparent in their product lineup, support and reliability.

When I see stuff like this I wonder why the hell I went into electrical engineering and ended up in software.

It'll still be faster than NuGet. I had to wait 12 minutes (!) to install a package the other day while it resolved dependencies on a single package.

This article neatly outlines some of it. Unfortunately I didn’t go digging and got enticed by the marketing in the end. https://spun.io/2019/10/10/aws-elasticsearch-a-fundamentally...

That reminds me of that time I had to do a snapshot on an EBS volume that had Jenkins on it. Took five days to do a 2TB volume. Local VMware about ten minutes. Edit: I notice a flurry of downvotes arriving since US woke up. Must be Amazon t

That’s what we were told as well. Plus also various things like cross region replication being unavailable. Also things like management ports are not possible to get to. Edit: also plan to lose everything in it.

Their sales team are awful. They don’t even understand the product they are selling.

Yeah was going to buy a 5900X and an NVidia 3070. Can't get either so spent the cash I had lying around on an M1 Mac Mini to play with. Edit: I’m still going to buy the first two items at some point. But not yet.

Your job is to make cost effective decisions actually. And that’s a long game not a short game. If you fail to make those consistently you end up with large infrastructure bills and unhappy customers eventually.

Can someone explain how logging is supposed to work after this change? I’m complete bloody lost. Actually I’m nearly always lost with kubernetes. It’s either broken or changing.

That's an interesting perspective. I've actually had the virus. I'm interested to see what the differential outcome of having the virus and having the vaccination is.

Does anyone have any non-press infested material about this vaccine? As far as I’m aware this is the first roll out of an mRNA based vaccine. While I’m no anti vaccination idiot I’d like to understand the risks to some degree.

This. So far, after a week, my M1 is flawless. This is not first gen tech by a mile. I’m slightly in shock to be honest. I was about to bail out to Linux and buy a monster PC but I can’t get a new Ryzen or Radeon card at the moment due to s

Hardly worth not doing it. The stuff depreciates far slower. I’ve been using an M1 mini as my desktop for over a week now and am impressed.
