There were better BASIC languages out there at the time. One example of this is AMOS. It was one of the very few pieces of software that I bought for the Amiga, because of the great manual. It was years ahead of qbasic/quickbasic and had a

The new one is much better. Clear and crisp. The top one looks like someone played around with Photoshop. Reminds me of the beginning of the web when it was popular to render 3D logos.

The problem is that not everyone thinks as you, and will vote based on agreement/disagreement. We need a clear separation of these types of votes.

That sounds extremely complicated. I don't see the need to emulate checks electronically, when there are good solutions today. Scandinavian business and personal users have no problems with transferring money using online banks. You can eve

"2x gain in eventual performance" It only takes 2 seconds before JRuby catches up with 1.9.2. That's not long, so unless your program only runs for a few seconds, the wait is worth it

There could be a fourth option: An advanced civilization has control over our region of the galaxy. Perhaps the reason why we don't detect other civilizations is because the dominant civilization neutralizes others when they get too advance

One advantage is that you can serve more people at the same time. It is probably much faster to push a button and get a ticket, than fighting a phone system

I don't think you can consider what goes on in prisons as sex. Most of the time it's rape. It is interesting to observe how Americans view sex in prison as if it was inevitable. If inmates were raped in my country, there would be an outrage

I don't see the problem. It doesn't use the same colours and it isn't that similar. And the Amtrak logo is only known to Americans anyway.

I think you need to distinguish between the religious/cultural definition of marriage, and the legal definition. I agree that we can't force priests to marry in the name of their God, because that's a matter of faith. That decision shoul

Coding it is not difficult. The real problem is how to keep it updated. Most of the prices are found on very unstructured web pages that are difficult to crawl. You might even get sued if you provide incorrect information. One possible solu

The Norwegian government made a similar site in 2002, because they felt the confusion around the "products" made it easier to hide hidden costs. Because no such service existed, they had to make it themselves.

But does it take into account the cost of not having the same protection from a welfare system. Poor people in the US may have more money to spend, but what happens when they get sick, or need higher education?
