I'm not an American, so I don't know what a 1300 score says about a person. But if I was Stanford, I would be interested in the potential of a person, and not just what they have done. There are lots of "smart" people who are best in their

The first sentence said it all really. The article was about giving up technology. The only remaining fact would be if they had a choice or not.

I have not seen that episode. Thank you very much for telling me how it ends. I guess that will teach me the dangers of not seeing everything the second it airs. A couple of comments like that, and I can throw away my PVR completely, and sa

I don't know if Microsoft still does it, but in the 90s they actually translated VBA in the Office pack to the local languages... I know it was included in the version before Office 95, but it may have been included in the 95 version as wel

The ultimate header is produced by a newspaper. Try running this line and see. It is a random line, so you might want to try it a few times :-) curl -i -s --head http://www.vg.no/ | grep N

I'm not supporting Hamas and am not supporting any attacks against civilians from either side. But you also have to look at what has happened the last 60 years. Israel is not without blood on their hands either. Let's face it. The last 60 y

Perhaps the users value their karma points too much. A lot of votes are based on whether the user agrees with the post, and not based on the value it brings to the discussion.

I have a feeling that most of the real engineering that happens today (including wireless as you said) are actually depending quite a lot on the generation before Gen-Y. Gen-Y can't take credit for much of anything really. The only exceptio

I am not on Facebook at all, even if it is free because I just haven't seen the need for it. I might develop some apps for it in the future, but that's about it. I'm not on Twitter, Friendfeed or Myspace either... For me, the value of Faceb

The best thing about that resolution is that you have a way out. If you don't manage it, you could always just do a pressup a day to reach your goal of 100 ;-)

I couldn't agree more. There are lots of Americans who thinks of Europe in the same way as the US. Just because most of western Europe is in the EU and share a continent, doesn't mean that you can say something about one country just becaus

I have to be clear that I do not use unlicensed software. I also think that people should not use the software, if they can't afford it. But I don't agree that all pirated copies are lost sales. Some of them might be of course, but you can'

It doesn't seem that taxes have much to do with innovation, because people will innovate no matter what country they live in. I agree that SV is a unique place that attracts talent, and it is probably easier to find investors there. But you
