Right now the AI is a software doing matrix multiplications and we are interpreting the result of that computation.

For us the body and the parts of the brain for needs are there first - and the modern brain is in service to that. An AI is just the modern brain. Why would it need anything?

Even if they were, any data is also only bytes - numbers - and therefore any knowledge, books, any kind of sound or picture would likewise be trivial. But isn‘t.

AGI is still just an algorithm and there is no reason why it would „want“ anything at all. Unlike perhaps GPT-* which at least might pretend to want something because is trained on text based on human needs.

The argument with the kids is really bullshit. I‘ve heard it again and again in different contexts. As if anyone could know how the short term economy will affect the kids. As if the kids would only start living in their 30s and the experie

My only request would be an option to override the auto wipers (even on autopilot) and without the touchscreen. This could be done effectively by adding a double press action and auditive feedback to the left stalk button.

We don‘t even have a path toward what you‘re suggesting. None at all. So ChatGPT is far closer to a solution.

I found it useful for writing unit tests, which really is a stupid brain dead code monkey task.

The leetcoders will get replaced first. There will be a need for designers of complex systems and possibly also algorithms for some time.

Maybe some day. But I tried it just now on a database design I‘ve been working on for two months and it spits out something superficially close immediately from a two sentence prompt. On one hand that’s impressive, it‘s interesting and some

This should be obvious. Jobs outsourced to India are jobs that can be specified rather precisely and require less interaction/requirements engineering across timezones.

But that would be totally unrelated to ChatGPT or anything resembling it. Sure, there could be another advance in AI, probably using another approach, but how is that different from 5 years ago?

The missing feature I want most is type narrowing across chained functions like: arr.filter(a => a.kind === „bar“).map(a => /* a should now be of type Bar just like in a branch */)

It‘s not strange at all. I think them same. The type system of TypeScript is in practice much more useful than the one of C# or Java. Nothing is abandoned and in any case typically only a small set of libraries is needed which should be car

Yes, both Bulgaria and Cyprus are without any doubt part of the west. Both are even part of the European Union. Claiming that they are not part of the west is laughable. Bulgaria is adjacent to Greece which is also part of the west. Cultura

I call bullshit. The west has much more to do with economic and political systems and the associated beliefs. Poland, for example, is not as rich as China, yet Poland is part of the west and China is not. And there are many examples like th
