I tried to get some waterjet cut parts about 5 years ago near Santa Barbara. The only shop I could find that could do it had no way to get the data into the 486 - yes you read right - other than hand replicating my file in his ancient CAD p

Exactly my experience in the US. Then I tried China and am now used to getting fast polite responses literally 365 days per year. And they appreciate the business. To be fair I have learned better how to get stuff done in the US - pick up t

I have no opinion whatsoever on this service but I believe everybody should be represented by a professional third party in any meaningful negotiation. Unless it's something trivial like selling a used car or a job you will commit the

I wasted a lot of time and money on a series of A7 cameras for machine vision. Hard crashes common among all models and firmware versions requiring removing the battery. No good for machine control such as aerial photography. Hope they have

Personally quite shocked that anyone in this community would endorse FBs behaviour in general by being users. A closed version of the internet controlled by a corporation? We should be yelling from the rooftops not nitpicking things like th

Definitely. Some of the most valuable posts are downvoted. Thats what makes them so valuable - sometimes the conventional wisdom is so wrong that when someone with specialist knowledge chimes in people reject it. Try posting here about anyt

His or her language wasnt great, but they made a very specific, falsifiable claim. A confidence trickster or con artist is a very specific type of endeavor and it should absolutely be ruled out that this isn't what's going on here

The 200+ volunteers working with Dr Gregor have never even mentioned animal rights as far as I remember and Ive reviewed personally most of what they have published. It is as unpolitical as you can get - a volunteer group doing an ongoing l

The US is notoriously unregulated. Why bother in countries with strong consumer protection and health claim laws? Ride the wave of corruption while it's still possible. Its not going to go anywhere under Trump.

Interesting you suggest in this post that reducing carbs is a step towards a healthier diet. A whole food plant based diet is mostly carbs and is generally regarded as the healthiest diet available. The field of nutritional science is as va

As a vegan I take B12 (liquid) supplement which costs a few dollars and is available anywhere. Vit D supplementation can be useful for some people but only really needs to be a relatively blunt instrument in terms of dosage. Thiamine is imp

In our workload this is definitely the case. When on the GPU the processing is almost infinitely quick. It's the transfer to and from the GPU memory which takes the time. This might be the case in the parent post. There was a guy who m
