I don't think the drive is anything to do with post-apocalyptic. Its more to do with decoupling from dependency on the "rat race" as much as possible.

I have a lot of love for python but when I want to achieve something that is easy in other languages but not available in Python because "thats not Pythonic" for some reason I think Stockholm Syndrome.

I often think about exactly both these points. We are so far behind in terms of research compared to particle physics because we don't have the ability to destructively smash consciousness apart just to see what falls out over and over

Yes we can capture a cubic meter of a wave at an instant of time and explain everything about it being a wave. We could do the same with a brain, freeze it in an instant of time. We might me able to tell what memories it is recalling now,

Sadly the more you think about the "Hard Consciousness Problem" the more it becomes like "mystical nonsense". The more you reduce the mind into being computable physical process the more it becomes a choice (or a frustra
