3% currency fluctuation in a month is high, but it's more of a random fluke. In the long term I'd expect the trend to be mostly interest rate diff - around 2% per year for EUR/USD. You should be a lot more concerned about the

Chance of winning is under 2% for almost all countries and it's not particularly fast - apply in November, learn in May whether you can immigrate from September. Regular H1B would be both faster and offer a better chance of winning.

The bar for extraordinary abilities is high. Read up on visa guidelines, consult with some immigration lawyers to see if you stand a chance. Founding a company doesn't open any extra immigration paths as far as I know. Except for EB-5

With random database keys I would think they can just be generated at random by any frontend server running anywhere. Ultimately, a request to insert that key would come to the database - which is the centralized gatekeeper in this design a

Youtube video ids used to be just base64 of a 3DES-encrypted mysql's primary key, a sequential 64-bit int - collisions are of zero concern there. By birthday paradox it's about as good as 128-bit UUID generated without using a cen

Nothing hacked about it. They rewrote it completely, keeping just the interface for compatibility. Perforce scales very well but still has a single server at its core - at some point no matter how much money google threw at that machine (i

That's a non-issue for scalable version control systems they use - perforce and now its in-house replacement (piper). Gamedev companies LOVE perforce because it scales, they keep game assets in it and those can be huge.
