Thank you, that gives some meat. Ultimately, I was focusing on the fact that if a customer brings you n new customers, n < 1 (and real number), it means you get new customers only via marketing. If n > 1, you get new customers with

I have a question regarding startup growth so I apologise in advance if its irrelevant here (haven't read the article to be honest). 1) I get that to get the first users, you have to go out and recruit them. That's the advertiseme

Im just wondering what's the purpose of the language itself. Ideally you would like to use the programming language you want and still have the visualisation stuff.

One guess is that it's easier to be part of a group that way, and then easier to reproduce.

Why would a firefly that sync survive more than one which doesn't?

From what I've seen the most common mistake when starting working on a new codebase is to not read it all before doing any change. I really mean it, a whole lot of programmers simply dont read the codebase before starting a task. Guess

I was referring to productivity, not network communication. an O(1) pain in the ass as pg wrote.

It seems to me the overhead of microservices in terms of productivy is O(1) - but I can be wrong. If the overhead is O(1) then the question becomes whether or not you already have the framework to do microservices. If you dont, so yeah ma

Well in that case, unrecoverable damages are caused whereas in many ways you can hack - or penetrate - without causing any damage. I guess.

Naive question: what if you just hack your prospect, without causing unrecoverable damages and show them you've hacked them, do they hire you? EDIT: ok thats illegal but isnt it in the interest of the prospect to hire you more than see

Oh yeah, of course you prefer to render the rectangles like that, my mistake. I insist on the 3d terminology though :)

Good job. Just for the clarification, it is well a voxel engine, but not a "2D" one as it makes no sense (voxel means VOlume piXEL, which is a 3D unit box, compared to a 2d unit-rectangle for the pixel), but a real 3d voxel engine

Gamedev here. First, remember the first principle of game AI, the goal is not to defeat the player but to entertain him. A simple way to say it is that too good AI is not what you want. Secondly, for most games, the fun is simply not on the

"Attitudes That Lead to Maintainable Code" Well that assumes the code is the problem and not the programmer. The code might be perfectly maintainable but the programmer lack skills to do just that. I've only seen very rarely

Maybe that's not the right question. What I understand from the article is that the threat is about being manipulated by computer algorithms. We don't really care the computers are actually intelligent and thinking or whatnot. Wha

I started a one-man biz that's beating VC-backed startups Click-bait title in my opinion. It's not because you don't need VCs to satisfy your customers that VCs are bad. They are good when you need them to satisfy your cust

A software developer is doing a good job when his bottom-up programming skills are good. The most common mistake a beginner do is that he works top-down. The way you know someone works top-down is that he does not or don't want to rewr

They have said so in fact -- they want you to fail quickly. That doesn't make you more likely to fail though. Quite the opposite on the long run.

In that video, the game is using hardware accelerated 3D because we can clearly see the bilinear-filtering.
