The title of the article is misleading. It's not like they rejected a game named "Android Apocalypse." Why should they host any content that promotes another platform?

Since you're already creating subdomains for users, you might want to consider adding wildcard DNS beneath those domains so you can take advantage of the DNS prefetching that is all the rage in browsers and email clients these days. For exa

HTTP also depends on MIME. Duplicate suppression can be tricky. The overhead may not be worth the benefit, and the risk of message corruption is increased. Besides, if the mail is encrypted by the user, it may not even be feasible to do ser

Any new mail storage protocol should anticipate the need to store encrypted messages at rest. Sure, it can play a part by storing an encrypted index on the server to deliver to authorized clients, but all decryption and index updates should

It's worth noting that the Wayback Machine stopped indexing your site on August 22, 2008: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.codethinked.com/ . Do you remember making any changes around then? Your robots.txt file seems fine. Maybe you

Perhaps, but it's also an opportunity to clarify or even redefine the job description. If you include only things you want to work on and they pass on you, you've weeded out a potentially bad placement. Too many people are willing to accept

That's true, but it's often equally true that the supervisors making the decision are too lazy or unimaginative to initiate the pay raise. The threat of leaving the company isn't only a bargaining chip, sometimes it's the only opportunity.

We learned in Betamax vs. VHS that there are risks involved in backing an emerging format. The difference here is that it's a little easier for different codecs to coexist, even with varying licenses. The problem is that publishing shouldn'

There is no irony here. This is a discussion forum. If I check out a book from the library, I don't want to see comments scribbled in the margins, but I'm more than happy to join a lively discussion about it on HN or reddit.

I actually had one. I'm about the same age as Watterson, and had a stuffed tiger that was identical to the one in the strip. I have a sneaking suspicion that he did to, since he captures the odd proportions of the original so perfectly. In
