I can on my desktop, but I can't on my (Android) tablet. On the tablet Google actually wants me to create a Google Profile before I can read the article. I've never run into this before today. I wonder if its new.

I like the approach Yii (PHP framework) takes: http://www.yiiframework.com/wiki/161/understanding-safe-vali... If a field doesn't have any validation rules set it will be thrown out when you save the model. This way you won't mass-assign

100% agree. Have been wondering this for a while. One way to do it would be to include an extra attribute on the script tag with a SHA1 hash of the library. For example: <script type="text/javascript" signature="24bdd1c96c20c39430

One thing I love about Mailgun is that they keep retrying POSTs to our URL if it doesn't respond with a 200 status code. It adds a nice level of reliability to our email gateways. I think you could add that here, and it might be a good valu

Nitpicky, but I do have some small suggestions: 1) +1 for needing a button to continue after typing my email 2) should add a distinct focus state for the buttons, so when I Tab to them I can tell it is selected. 3) the password I entered ('

The reverse. Offer a high price, but make it easy to get a discount (i.e., by contacting sales and asking for one, or Googling for a coupon). Or offer an Enterprise plan and charge a ton for it. You might be surprised. Some customers may ac

I don't disagree with you, but its hard to deny that MegaUpload was full of copyrighted material. I always got the impression they were complying with the law in the most minimal sense, but had no real interest in preventing copyrighted wor

Not always. Dropbox did the same thing, and I thought it was smart. Couple of factors: 1) Time-value of money. Say they could have gotten it for $30k before they started vs $1 million later. $30k when you're starting up can be "worth" more

My 8th grade science teacher did this for us and it changed my life. I chose to learn Java and then HTML. 15 years later, I'm making websites and writing Android apps at my own company. I cannot think of a single experience in all of my edu

FWIW, this is a common (and excellent!) practice. So no matter which registrar you transfer your domains to you should get an extra year added to your registration.

Same here, in Raleigh, NC. Haven't had a car in years. Its been the best decision I've ever made for my own peace of mind. If you're willing to walk a bit and take some buses, you don't need a car. And you find really cool places while walk

Most women I know who use dating sites don't pay much attention to the unsolicited messages they get. Instead, they browse the available men and send the ones they like PMs. To be honest, its a lot like recruiting - the people sending their

FWIW, I see that warning every single time I click a link from inside the FB app. I find it annoying as hell, but I took it as a bad UX decision and not a conspiracy.

As I understand it: Banking is a commodity product. Other than access to ATMs, customer service, and online banking there's not much difference between banks (other than rates & fees, of course). Same goes for the customers, honestly. I

Gotcha. I'm not an OS guy, and didn't know that convention. Thanks! Dumb question though: If rehash can only return -1 or 0, won't if(rehash(H)) always fail?

I think the GP's point still stands. Smart companies will have an advantage recruiting these engineers, because they have less competition, and so they will win. (Corollary: the quality of the team is the strongest predictor of success). I

I'm not sure I agree. Apple is in a sweet spot - the more expensive the item, the more cool points you get for owning it. Having a brand new Apple TV could get you laid, real talk. I don't know of any other brand that can say that.

Really nice post, and a great product idea. Looks like you're off to a great start. One thing though - the name. It means nothing to me, I can't spell it, and I'm going to forget it. Perhaps something more direct like YourPrivacyPolicy.com
