I have done this, and it is very helpful. Give it a try before you dismiss it! You seriously won't believe what you'll find. For example, new laptops purchased from a big box have so much crap starting up that they make the laptop

That is correct. Do Not Call (the USA law) does not apply to businesses. We found a great remedy: answer their calls with a soundboard. We like the Mr. Rogers soundboard [1]. Its fun, harmless, and they'll stop calling very quickly. [1
