I think one trait that is a very strong indicator is ability to sell well. It's anecdotal but I literally know 0 people who are good at selling and who long term failed.

thats the legal framework in place bit.
845.
by qaq 5y ago
Well I am def not a legal expert to know if it is sufficient for the above purpose and if we can ever create a lang for smart contracts that is expressive enough, but it's cool to see things are happening.

a very narrow example you are nonprofit in charge of .org TLD the DAO managing bylaws of that org have no provision for you to be able to sell .org TLD to a third party. You don't have to constantly worry that some ahole will take over

by qaq 5y ago
so we do not have to go through legal process to resolve anything

by qaq 5y ago
If there would be a legal framework in place that can tie a DAO to basically be legally binding bylaws of an actual org. and the smart contract lang. is expressive enough for this to work this would be extremely valuable. Outside of this mo

Well that's one exception but in CA public Unis are good and fairly cheap.

this would obviously depend on the field but generally there is significantly lower comp in Canada vs US for the same job. Taxes are lower in US too.
852.
by qaq 5y ago
thats great in theory the thing is though that US student will make 15K more after tax so break even will be 3.3y

by qaq 5y ago
But there is no magic you are paying higher taxes and that’s not for 20 years it’s forever

Cool to see it's still kicking and making major improvements

you do realize that by doing what he did he didn't just burn greedy F500 companies that didn't have ci/cd setup properly, but non-profits and other entities that are not really resourced to deal with type of stuff.

It's fine to speculate given a certain pattern of behavior

still confused faker.js is in no way an original project, ruby faker is 4 years older than faker.js and I doubt it's the oldest.

Are you sure their TOS does not give them a right to do this regardless of "malicious behavior"

Thx for highlighting this. If Handshake becomes a viable system it will def. serve as an important milestone for making web3 viable. Problem is this is not the type of project that is getting significant attention or funding.

by qaq 5y ago
I think the biggest problem that is never addressed has little to do with tech. There has being numerous pushes before to go decentralized and privacy focused but general public never cared.

Aside from actual age I mean literally were born in USSR and lived through it's collapse.

by qaq 5y ago
You have to realize that there is decent amount of people who lived through the collapse of USSR on HN, so just because someone mentions USSR in the context that is upsetting to someone with left leanings does not mean that it's withou
