If you have an absolute majority (which PiS was the first to achieve in 2015 and 2019), you can do anything. And if people protest, you can just wait them out - since 1991, only trade unions can announce paid strikes, their membership is dw

I recall using https://pghintplan.osdn.jp/pg_hint_plan.html for this feature, it did what it claimed to be able to do. It's a hack, but it really helps in the worst case scenarios.

Except votes for parties who get less than 5% (if running alone) or 8% of votes (if a Coalition) do not count. So that 40% becomes 52% and suddenly the only thing you can do as a minority party is yell.

It's not "most Poles". It's realistically a quarter, maybe a third of the population. Thankfully, the turnout increased from 51% in 2015 (when they won the absolute majority for the first time with 38%) to 68% in the sec

I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with the institution to give a proper response. To me, many of their (Polish Episcopate's) actions are illogical and a net loss to the community they're supposed to foster. I don't

Most engineers in Poland prefer anything BUT full time employment, so all-in the tax for engineering work is like 8.5%/19% with a ~$120/mo mandatory health insurance. They'd rather get hired as freelancers and pay less taxes
