I'm sorry, but that's complete BS. Playing any type of guitar does not limit you to a specific style of play - you can play any style you want on any type of guitar. Some advanced techniques and progressions (i.e, solos or conversly fingers

It's certainly not difficult once you are proficient enough. I got my first acoustic after 2 years playing a classical guitar and 1 year playing an electric one. It was very similar to playing a classical guitar once your fingers are broken

(I've been playing the guitar for 16 years) - beginners should definitely start with a classical guitar, not an acoustic or an electric guitar. Acoustic is the hardest to play correctly, while electric has more setup and cost involved (ampl

This is a good approach for non technical people, no doubt. That is if it really suites their skillset. As a non-technical founder, you are likely good at building and maintaining relationships. You are probably good at selling things. You

They create those demos to attract users to their browser - kind of defeats the purpose if you can run it using any browser. I actually downloaded mobile chrome on to run this - I usually run Firefox.

You're technically right (and I found it annoying too) - but it is a "Chrome" expriment... naturally it would only support Chrome.

You're probably talking about this - https://github.com/kayue/WordpressBundle Not what I was talking about - this allows you to run wordpress on a symfony site and share user state (pretty trivial). I'm talking about an adapter that allo

The main problem perpetuating Wordpress' design woes is its plugin ecosystem and how it depends on Wordpress' internals. A massive hook system, scopeless globals passed around like nobody's business and overall reliance on how "things work

You reached the max nesting with your last comment so I'll continue here - I'm not playing any games. If anything, I would say you are by not specifically saying "FU money" or something equivalent (i.e, being rich) in your poll and then cla

The examples you gave (Dorsey, Zuckerburg) pointed much more in the direction of the latter. Putting it the context of the original argument, I indeed put it all on the line by stopping to work completely and living a very barebone life. Th

I lived on 2k$ a month for two years. I saved up 50k$ from contract work in order to accomplish that. I really don't think that counts as FU money.

Yet somehow, FU money is not on the poll. So I don't see how that settles anything. A more interesting poll would have been to ask that question specifically.

It's pretty shocking to me the different worlds we live in. You honestly think that most startups are created by people with FU money? And while your personal experience may differ, the vast majority of VCs are strictly "dumb money" and a

You wrote a post about VCs in general. VCs in general raise money to create the fund and then manage it. When you invest your own money, you are typically considered an "angel" investor. It might be semantics, but I'm sure you're aware of t

I wouldn't say plenty - succeeding while working on a startup part-time is definitely the exception, and not the rule. I would love to hear some examples of those successful founders who succeeded while working part-time on their venture.

If this is the hardest question for you, you are not ready to do a startup. This is a filtering question - If I'm YC, if even one of the founders is not able to commit, that's probably an immediate rejection right there.
