Researchers should become practictioners to some extent, if they want their ideas to spread. Example : Donald Knuth and TeX. Racket programming language. etc... Of course in this publish-or-perish era, this is probably no longer possible.

The UK recruitment industry is extremely competitive/aggressive. After Covid, they realised they could even outcompete the Americans on their home turf. UK estate agents are also expanding abroad at an increasing pace.

I guess it's to reduce the validation workload at their end. They'd rather receive numbers generated and validated by a piece of software, rather than numbers that may or may not make sense.
