Are they not only getting very desperate candidates ?

That "github is the new resume" meme a few years ago was quite funny, in retrospect. People panicking that they'd never be able to get another job, as they didn't have free time to code at the weekend...

That those 'exclusive hiring practices' still attract candidates shows an excess of supply, no? It's the current market.

Same here, companies don't ever look at my Github code. I built up a portfolio partly in the hope to make future interviews easier, but it hasn't worked at all!

Another great post from Triplebyte, but I am confused about their model. Why would candidates want to apply to Triplebyte, if they still have to go through the companies' full interview process on top of the Triplebyte process ?

Maybe not for you ;) The rest of us usually need a few weeks to prepare for these algorithms-heavy interviews. I'd rather know in advance if it's worth the trouble!

Mmmm... it's not clear how salary inversion would build up, when I assume every single Mountain View Googler gets multiple job opportunities a week in their inbox, presumably with salary ranges. Having said this, I'm looking at th

If AppAmaGooBookSoft are happy to spend that much on talent, why don't they let it be known, rather than complain about a talent shortage ?

After reading the article, really I don't think Tesla is offering particularly worse conditions than any other manufacturer. Their 8 year guarantee is actually pretty inclusive, and now it's transferrable as well. The lack of indi

Also, for a European fintech startup, not being located in London is a riskier choice re. staffing.

Many developers will be looking for a larger premium (50-100%) to work in finance, rather than a tech company. To express this with arbitrary numbers: Who'd actively choose Goldman Sachs at 120k over Google at 100k ?

Some unsuccessful companies also use the same format. It makes a lot of sense for Google to place maximum emphasis on whiteboard interviewing, not so much for its lesser competitors. If Google is a more desirable company and they run the sa

I have been working in tech for a few years and have experienced a variety of company sizes and technologies (FTE and freelance). What I will say is that in all these jobs, by an order of magnitude, the interview process was the biggest slo

I was trying to do the same thing in London, and so posted on my local Clojure user mailing list, it worked really well. More so in fact if you're happy to help people with their own project ideas, rather than your own.

I'd say that they have in fact been collaborating on this, and reform failure shows that all in all, they haven't got that much political weight.

What happens is that in a low volume housing market, prices are determined by the activity of relatively few sellers and (wealthy) buyers. Prices can easily go up and up in a rarefied market.
