Some unsuccessful companies also use the same format.
It makes a lot of sense for Google to place maximum emphasis on whiteboard interviewing, not so much for its lesser competitors. If Google is a more desirable company and they run the same interview process, won't they be hiring mostly people who failed the same interview at Google?
- pklausler 11y agoThe programming world has lots of smart, talented, capable people whose resumes won't get them even a phone interview from Google. Coding interviews deserve their bad reputation, but dammit, there is no better way to learn whether or not a candidate for a programming job understands the really basic concepts than to have them write a little bit of code that can't be written if you lack the aptitude.
