Yes, that's our standalone app. We also offer developers a SDK so an app can have the full functionality in a small SOS button with 3 lines of code. Developers don't pay for data storage, sms, or ivr fees. For customers, it's free to use wi

After Apple gave us the run around and rejected us using In-App Payment for our premium insurance services, we tried switching to PayPal. After countless headaches with PayPal, we switched to Stripe in 1 working day. Huge fan of their servi

37signals is catching flack for yet-another-blog-post not applying to larger institutions, but this mirrors Facebook's culture in which every employee is "QA" by serving them the latest trunk if I'm not mistaken. Sometimes people overanalyz

This type of defensive purchase by Microsoft just perpetuates the problem with software patents. Maybe Bill should return from philanthropy, reinstate his position as CEO, burn these patents for the betterment of entrepreneurism, and resign

Most of those posts are almost 4 years old, get over it. I've been publishing to AppStore since 2007 and it was rough at the start. Apple wasn't anticipating the volume of submissions. It's a much different story now.

That's not the moral of the story; techies are great early-adopters and end users for that reason. The moral is to treat customers privacy with utmost respect.

Your argument doesn't compute. You're comparing content (photo gallery) with a design structure. The "two column" grid includes photos, locations, new friends, comments, etc.

<rant> Four-hour work week? Work smarter, not harder? I just don't buy those kind of ideologies if you really believe your idea will change the world. If you want a lifestyle business that provides for you and your next of kin, more

In all fairness, that was written in August of 2009... 2 years is quite a long time for browsers to improve their script engines. I'm certain you're also running the latest Safari/Chrome/FF whereas many of my friends and family still are no

Awesome news topped with even more awesomeness that Heroku is continuing to truck along post-acquisition. We're now looking into +/-'s of moving from RAX Cloud Servers to Heroku.

I would buy it at $4.99 with the mouse acceleration disable feature. Right now I use USB Overdrive but it's 32-bit and I'm not sure if it's working properly in Lion. I have Logitech software for my MX1000 to control everything else, it just

Perhaps, if you were expecting to sell one copy @ $16. But your argument is invalid at internet scale. $.99 games sell millions of volume. I'm not going to spend $14.99 on it because there are alternative products for cheaper or free. Deman

15.99 is too expensive, IMO, but I guess you can make that decision based on sales data. I would experiment with 4.99. Something else a lot of people don't realize is that mouse acceleration is turned on in OSX and it's 'impossible' to disa

Congrats to Michael and Tan on all the recent success. They've been building Gendai for a long time starting in Austin. Lots of sweat, blood, and tears went into this product. Great team, dedicated and innovative.

When are you guys going to wake up and use newsgroups? BitTorrent is a huge liability if you ask me. If you're caught and sued, it's for distribution — not downloading.

I'm waiting for Apple to unload some of their cash reserves for Dropbox. Could they build it themselves? Maybe but I'm not very optimistic based on iDisk. However, I haven't had many issues with .Me syncing my mail/calendars/address book.
