People are doing it, but building a home is a lot of work and usually ends up costing far more than anticipated unless you really know what you are doing.

Windows Update is in need of a massive overhaul, but these 'feature updates' are actually an entire new OS that gets installed. While it normally works great, when it doesn't, it's very difficult to fix in most cases, as

This wasn't a leak, it was a feature that existed on Facebook for several years before being removed.

Insane, yes, but 2k/month is still a lot more then most American families live on after paying their rent/mortgage.

Probably not common, but still possible for those with professional degrees in many places in the US. After all, the median home price is still around 200k. Student loans are probably more of an issue then housing prices for new graduates i

There are companies like cigarette makers who's entire business is generally considered unethical, and others like big banks that could be ethical but often aren't. I would expect this to make a big difference in the type of worke

WhatsApp and Instagram seem to be much more respected than Facebook proper right now, so it kind of makes sense. I also haven't noticed a decline in usage of these apps among my friends, but posts on Facebook itself have really dried u

It doesn't seem like the average user cares about social media privacy at all, let alone Facebook politics and forced apologies. The current privacy settings available on Facebook are actually very extensive, but totally overwhelming t

I agree, it seems crazy to buy now. But will we actually see a crash, or just a period of stagnation?

Hopefully it has been fixed, but last time I used iOS, the phone/messages app seemed to mix up contact info from identical numbers with different area codes. So if I had 206-555-5555 in my address book, and got a call or message from 5

Wasn't there a Black Mirror episode about this? Seems like a terrible idea, but will inevitably end up being required by many companies, just like credit scores.

I have never seen a US carrier offer Apple Music. T-Mobile does provide a Netflix subscription with some plans, so it's certainly possible though.

Of course they do, but it's a much bigger issue when it's done with taxpayer money. I don't really care what Apple or BP waste money on, but I hate seeing important services degraded/cut in order to keep spending on wast

This type of waste occurs in all levels of government. My last employer was spending over $1,000,000/year maintaining some horrible SharePoint sites that were rarely used.

If you go back and look at some 3rd party testing done on this, it was clearly shown that an iPhone could operate at the expected speed with a new battery and much slower when an older battery was reinstalled.

Except that the software changes were made to hide the fact that these batteries were inadequate to begin with. This wasn't about making phones more reliable, it was to keep them functional at the expense of performance.

I am happy to see this issue getting so much attention outside of tech circles. Apple has mostly gotten a pass for their anti-consumer behavior recently and I hope the negative publicity from this forces them to improve things.

This is an extremely common tactic for insurance companies. Deny claims first, then reverse that decision for the small number of customers who dispute the denial.

I have experienced the same disorganization the few times I have visited an Apple store. Simple signs or different color shirts could go a long way towards directing people to the right employees.
