At the bottom of the homepage, there is a link titled “lists” that links to many of these pages. Active is my favorite list as it points to posts with high discussion activity.

I want to learn how to build emulators for CHIP-8 and Gameboy and am having the person tug-of-war over assembly, C, or Rust. With hindsight, do you recommend doing them in assembly? And what resources did you use to get started?

Thanks. My plan will be to follow along https://www.learncpp.com/ and then check out the Rust book later on then. I've found previous success in learning an older language that a newer one can replace (JavaScript to Ty

As someone that is looking to learn one or the other (and hopefully be able to utilize it to land a job too), is the recommendation to skip learning C++ at this point and learn Rust instead? I was going to learn how to write a game boy emul

Who cares? The right thing to do doesn't rely on what others may hypothetically do. Acting in good faith consistently in life can pay off multiple times over if you build up a reputation for it. And from a non-selfish angle, it's

I was taught to do this in open-wheel racing. Thumbs stick straight up rather than gripping inside the wheel. And on bigger crashes, completely let go of the wheel as quickly as possible.

How so? I only use basic markdown (e.g. for ReadMes and quick note taking), so I'm fairly ignorant.

I chop wood and don’t eat meat. When I’m playing tennis, I consume lots of calories to provide the energy to compete. I don’t see how your conclusion that eating lots of meat every day is necessary when you sometimes don’t work in an office

Biking in Austin around the lake is totally fine weather wise. Keep your commutes to the mornings and use an eBike at a leisurely pace when it’s peak summer. Come Fall, the weather is absolute bliss for riding!

This thread has been eye opening. I’ll check out online support and see if that’s better than in person. In person is a lot stingier now than it was 5 years back.

It's the biggest thing I've missed after switching from a Pixel to an iPhone this week. In my first day of iPhone ownership, I received more spam/text calls than in an entire year with a Pixel.
