tl;dr I think the author in that post means that CyanogenOS is the problematic one. CyanogenMod /should/ be fine. Although a migration to LineageOS is probably a better option (this is my opinion) at this point given that CM will

Interesting development. Could this be a good thing that encourages OEM to standardize on something like the IBM-like PC that we have for x86 systems so we don't have to deal with each individual boards in Android or the traditional GN

That article describes how the master encryption key stored on the hdd (your password encrypts this key afaik) gets corrupted, which means the author was unable to recover the files on the computer even if nothing is wrong anywhere else. No

Now Niantic's decision to disallow root devices, imo, is pretty regretful, as serious botters will likely be able to get around that restriction regardless. This only serves to punish users who are stuck between having a root-enabled c

As confirmed by Lenovo as well: > The package of code with the SMM vulnerability was developed on top of a common code base provided to the IBV by Intel. Importantly, because Lenovo did not develop the vulnerable SMM code and is still in

As a sibling comment has said, there are scarcity of energy and resources. Now let's even pretend that can be a solved problem (not that I think it is possible, just from a physics POV): there will still be a transitional period where

I think the parent is trying to say that successful people all have luck, while not all hard working people are successful. I feel this is a correct, one way relation, as being born in the right country is luck in itself.

While this comment may seem a little inflammatory, it does not deserve a downvote, as it brings an interesting point of discussion. In my view, there are two different things we have to balance with something like UBI: 1. Provide for those

The upside of this is that if you want to very quickly destroy your data, all you need to erase is the master key securely. This is true for LUKS on Linux as well. Destroy the LUKS header, you data is now forever gone.

It depends on what you want to do. Are you authenticating a human? Are you authenticating a machine? OAuth and simple API keys address very different concerns. Generally Oauth is for authenticating to a 3rd party service/client that yo

I'm not sure if that accurately reflect why this is relevant either. I think it is fairly significant that PLR is very much connected to TC (and it is suspected that he is involved with TC financially). I do not have a better title sug
