Do you have stats? Go to Help => Firefox Health Report and look at the data on startup time and so forth. I seem to remember that there are things you can do if you deviate too much from the average of others.. but I don't remember

You're also passing off your user's information to someone else. It's a minor concern, but for some people that might be important.

Absolutely. Actually in that case we could just do something like this: <link rel="stylesheet" hash="b6792c2dcaafc7678f18236f6e7289152756a14f" href="...."></link> Now that I look at it

I don't usually like to host my JavaScript elsewhere such as on the Google CDN. Are there any web standards in the works where you can specify a hash of a file to be cached regardless where it is?

It is a double edge sword. I think this is too early to tell, wait to see if Google will reinstate the app after big warnings in the description.

Wait. I thought the ability to fuck up your phone (also known as replacing the shitty UI/crapware that your manufacture forced on you) is a major strength of Android phones?

One note here, if you're using Google Apps, moving should be a breeze as you can just change your MX records. However, hosting your own email could be painful. For me it is especially great since my primary email is an alias domain on

Slightly offtopic: "Microsoft also developed Photo DNA to match pictures using just a pixel." What. So if I give Microsoft a pixel with value #F00 it can determine if that's from a specific photo? Great reporting with great i

This is probably true. I'm trying to think other attack vectors.. not really coming up with any yet. Slightly sad that we can't trust things on our own network now... goes and turn on firewall for individual machines on my own ne

AeroFS is not open source.. and really in this climate we can't say it is going to guarantee privacy. (This does not mean that OSS guarantees privacy, it is just a necessary condition.)

Actually. Yes (on average). Since people tend to want more, and since we're all subject to boundary conditions posed by nature, compromises need to be made in certain cases. A good example is the driving situations in Japan/China

Yeah but those are all driven by competition, which is something that capitalism promotes. Is there something that promotes competition but also collaboration? I think another sibling comment is right, there needs to be a mix of both and is

Interesting article. I have not seen a lot of quantitative studies on society in general (that is probably personal bias, however). Is it wrong to say that a lot of the root cause of this is from capitalism? Is socialism a better solution f

I think it's poorly worded. It's saying that that level of education has enough people employed. Anybody continues to pursuit that career (lawyers according to the article) is therefore "overeducated".

Interesting theory as well. The final statement seem to be not backed up by the arguments presented. I would love to see this theory getting more researched. So given that the original article used just numbers and assume that the time deri

For smaller objects they would need higher resolution censors? Not sure. All I remember while trying to do this is that high sensitivity is expensive..

There were a close call involving a bomber that accidentally ditched a nuke (i think?). It was the last fail safe that stopped it. I remember reading about it here, don't have the article in hand. I'm sure you can find it.

That sounds.. extremely complicated. Needs high resolution radars with good range (very expensive on its own) and good software in order to detect something and then find an evasive action. As these events are already unlikely (i assume), d

This is similarly spec'ed to a Nexus 4. A little bit worse, actually, but not by much. This is probably still too expensive for another billion people. I think the most recent version of android is the most important part. really.
