If one only trains the model to correctly identify a disease (e.g. maximising the correct identification and minimising the error), then there is no space for the model to be "racist". I don't question that there is a signal

I am maybe totally naive, but if this feature is bad, then why do all of these models even include race in the training set? Removing it would also remove the potential bias? How is self-identified race potentially relevant for disease iden

In my opinion, Windows ME was worse. I decided to use Windows 2000 and then XP. 2000 was very stable compared to what we were used to with the 95/98 series.

SpaceX launching a Tesla into space for a test flight is firstly benefiting SpaceX and then Tesla. It is first and foremost a commercial entity working for profit and not scientific progress. That might be a side-effect, but I wouldn't

Although the results look good, I don't think you could draw this conclusion. It is just an indication, but only a proper study with control groups etc could lead to such a conclusion. Edit: I see that the comment has been changed, but

Studying anything at a university is not an apprenticeship for any job, but basically learning and doing science. If one loves History as a scientific subject, just go for it. Often, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you could r

You have probably done this already anyway, but it is worth checking the travel insurance included with your credit card. Many people are overinsured when it comes to travel (overseas medical) insurance.

Assuming you mean the linked "Fitt's law", I don't see how this would apply here. If the icon size and the distance are the same, this law wouldn't differentiate between the button being in the middle or on the left

The same applies to Popper and Feyerabend (at least in German). Popper's writings are pretty clear in general in comparison to other philosophers of his time.

How do you define a diff or merge for such files? Having a history available and branches (e.g. alternative versions of the same image) that can't be merged back seems to me to be still a version-control system.
