I assumed (perhaps incorrectly, but it was a guess since I never dug into it) that less used "hot pockets" of previous inference gradually got more stale as time went on, and the conversation went elsewhere and didn't need th

Imagine getting free tokens from OpenAI and the special flag on your account that tells it to "never nerf you" ? To be clear, I've had some great success using these tools, they're amazing, but it's also very obviou

This only makes sense if the underlying thing that gets exposed after you put in the password is a block device... I'd want to then be able to have that encrypted with LUKS myself, I don't want to rely on this homebrew stuff.

What a badly written article. How could you leave out the N900 and the development history that came before it? If it wasn't for Elop and Microsoft, Nokia could have dominated and we wouldn't be stuck with mostly proprietary phone

Haskell definitely needs to improve a lot of things, but moving to python is obviously a mistake for most cases. Golang is probably the best language for LLM things, it's got reasonably strong types, compiles very fast, and is simple

The codex software is garbage compared to Claude, but open source is the future, so you should at least switch.

Kind of a crap article that doesn't (1) link to the code (or to the golang implementation from the paper) and (2) doesn't even have the word "CAP" in it.

For many years, I've wanted ED-209 (robocop) voice from something like espeak or similar. Still can't find anything good. Not for chat, just as a way to make notification messages that sound like ED-209.

Serious countries don't still use the death penalty. It's barbaric. Even if the crimes are barbaric.

I like the privacy conscious aspects. Apart from the obvious issue of "run it through Claude" how many of those referenced analysis tools are entirely open source or at least run locally? Would have liked to see that in the articl

When this is a good quality Laser printer let me know. Nobody really wants inkjet that's not for high end photo printing.

Having it stick out like that is such a stupid design. Almost as dumb as all the 2FA dongles. The USB-A ones that you could leave in actually made the most sense. Yes I know.

Concise and spot on. I learned about this "thinking" stuff not too long ago, and I was quite surprised that they keep it hidden. Long-term this isn't going to fly. I hope we get truly open models going and let them be owned b

I want to like codex, but the quality is just not very good, especially when compared to Claude. It used to work okay, but a while back they landed a major regression for an entire team of folks I work with. No response, no workaround. htt

The difference between this one (good) and the Anthropic program (bad) is that openai doesn't force you into a marketing clause while Anthropic does. I mean seriously, you already ripped off all the worlds open source code. Be more gen

Signal refuses to answer: Why won't they release/open source all of their backend infra automation scripts/tools/etc... There's no reasonable reason why a 501(c)(3) won't put this out there to make sure there&#

Is it zero-indexed, or are they really behind in choosing winners, or am I loosing my mind... Isn't it 2026 not 2025??

Anthropic is missing the plot by not releasing even the CLI (tui) claude code as open source. On the other hand, Codex is so garbage that as soon as they catch up it will be done for Claude.

I don't know why they aren't doing more booster catches. Kind of a bit disappointed they keep skipping. Either they can land them or they can't. If it's not consistent then they're avoiding the possible failure so t

I like a device with these kinds of specs and this size, but I'd want all of this and all the hardware on the flipper zero as well. Seems all the RF/radio stuff is gone :/ I'd want at least that and more.

I'd buy any Tesla, even the big truck, if it came with open source software! I don't want a car that's spyware like a phone. Let me be in control of it, let me mod it, let me own it. Who's going to sell me one?

It's so obvious that many of the bugs being found are/were most likely M$ backdoors. There doesn't seem to be any other plausible explanation. The reckoning needs to come and people need to stop using their products for good.

I actually even tried to get the AI models to build such a theme, but they couldn't figure it out! They would just generate something wrong. When that works, I'm interested!

Oh wow. I tried zed, but I couldn't get the colour scheme to make the whole thing look like the classic "cobalt" from gedit/gtksourceview. I am legit willing to pay fair $ if someone wants to build such a theme for me.
