I work on quality control medical data (MRI images) and have huge data sets from machines going back over a decade. Most of the useful stuff is extracted metrics (stored in a db), but every now and then we need to pull up a data set and run

Breaks are good, yes, but I prefer to decide on them based on the rhythms of my work, not the demands of my belly. I still take breaks, but when _I_ want to.

This looks really cool. Perhaps someone can explain to me why we need new languages, in the face of rich, powerful, languages/tools such as this. Is it just not-invented-here syndrome + better advertising? More forgiving to beginners?

Visual Studio Code is NOT based on Atom, it is based on Electron[1], a wrapper around V8/Node for the creation of desktop apps. Atom is also based on Electron (and the Electron project is run largely by the Atom people), but other than

I love the concept of Atom and have a lot invested in its success. That being said, I switched back to Sublime because of the responsiveness, and here's why: Programming (for me) is a craft. When I'm in the flow of coding, there&#

Actually, the Jewish tradition is that Moses lived 120 years, and that, after him, 120 years was the approximate cap on human life. Many Jewish well-wishings end with something like "may you live until one hundred and twenty".
