Me too. Doesn't it drive you nuts when some sites don't let you resize fonts? Specifically, look at the Facebook comments on Techcrunch. I can zoom in all I want (command-+) but the comments-font stays tiny. My eyes are bad.

A lot of engineers[1] spent a lot of time successfully fixing Y2K bugs. Because nothing well known blew up, many people wrongly assumed that Y2K was never a real problem to begin with. [1] I moved a Fortune 100 manufacturing company's datab

It looks cool but what is with Microsoft's naming conventions. Apparently the official name for this product is "Surface for Windows RT," as it is referenced here: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en/us/about.aspx

It troubles me a tiny bit to see comments on HN like (paraphrased) "Members of [group that has different religious beliefs than me] are evil." I am not defending religion or Scientology.

I encountered this problem on one of my sites. The solution was -- rather than using the video player's API to stop or pause the video -- I had to remove the video entirely from the DOM with Jquery.remove()

I thought the video was (relatively) amazing. It was funny and cool and not overly douchy and/or nerdy like other demo videos.

The article says to give each password its own unique salt and then store the salt (as well as the salted hash) in the database. This seems like a bad idea to me. If a hacker gets access to the salted passwords, in this case he'll probab
