Yes, and it also mentions the gini coefficient. This popped up in the History of Rome podcast I was listening to last night. Never heard it before, need to read up on it :-)

Last time Rome popped up as a topic on hackernews, someone mentioned "The history of Rome" podcast. It's absolutely fantastic. I mention it so that perhaps someone else can enjoy this masterpiece as much as I have.

I'm sure that most people who have studied OO would find many similarities with Plato's forms. The same could be said of Spinoza's attributes, however the latter is much more abstract (to say the least). Without digressing to

It's possible that whilst the universe is full of life, intelligent life is quite scarce. It could be we are the first in this Galaxy. It could be that others have come and gone but never quite made it to space. Cave paintings go back

Do you have a link to this paper? Life got going on Earth very early on, now perhaps it was a lucky fluke, but it happened early. When you consider that there are perhaps 100 Billion stars in a typical galaxy, and in the observable universe

Thanks for this, just gave tmux a try. Seems fantastic. Tried Version 2.0. Here are the bindings I went for so that it feels more like screen ( what I am used to ), plus being able to use vi like commands for copy + paste: vim ~/.t

Exactly this. MSBlast was so prevalent that ISP's would prevent infected computers from accessing the internet, by redirecting them to a page which described how they could remove the infection and patch themselves up. I don't rem

I get this exact same feeling, a thousand fold when I'm in a supermarket. To think of the amount of effort it has taken to design, manufacture, package, market and transport all those products (edible or not) is a little overwhelming.

I spent so much time on this. Learning how to use the various MFD's, trying to plot a course from Earth -> Moon -> Mars, with a slingshot around the Earth after refueling.... difficult but addictive. Then there was the UCGO mod.
