Yes, just like rape accusations. It doesn't matter that you prove it was false afterwards. Edit : well that was a hint to Assange of course. Probably not true in general. So yes, I mean false accusations.

What's not in the paper but I find quite annoying in scientific articles is excessively loaded notation. Some variables get to have like 4 or 5 subscripts and equations become unreadable. I really appreciate when papers get to say at s

Actually the biggest challenge of particle filters is to avoid sample degeneracy : when significant parts of the posterior density are no longer covered by particles.

I disagree about the tinkering, I've found it very straightforward to get a decent desktop experience. The only drawback is that it's perceptibly slower than Linux.

I used to write faster with my index finger + swype than with a keyboard (now I have an old iPhone) I find screen size to be a bigger advantage to desktop.

To the engineers, the fact that there is a war is irrelevant I'm not sure this is true. In my point of view, engineers would typically outdo themselves on wartime because they know there are big immediate stakes to their work.

I find the flatness to make things look horribly cluttered, for example in Outlook 2016 : too few borders, no distinction between buttons and plain text, no hierarchy, uselessly huge components ... (Edited to be more specific)

Well, in my experience, if you're left to balance side-effects, it's that your underlying design is flawed. But regardless, taking sensor classification (inherently error-prone) at face value is engineering malpractice.
